Tip #6 For Best On-Camera Performance

It’s no secret that one of the keys to a good marketing campaign is through the use of video. Youtube is the second most used search engine and more video content is uploaded to the internet in a single month than network television has produced in three decades. According to Social Media Today, Facebook predicts that predicts that by 2020, over 75% of the world’s mobile data traffic will be video. Here’s the last tip for the best on-camera presence:

Your Preparation 📋✏️
▶️ Know your main points. To avoid sounding like you’re reading a script, practice beforehand. Write out your script to familiarize yourself with the message, then write down bullet points. Then practice speaking naturally, as if talking with a friend.
▶️ Record yourself on camera to see what needs improvement. You can use your phone’s camera 📱 to record yourself, then play the footage so you can see how you look on camera. This allows you to focus on any areas that needs improvement.
▶️ Keep hydrated. 🥛 Taking a water break can also be a way to step away from the camera and calm your nerves. It also allows you to pronounce your words better, and it’ll allow you to speak for longer.
▶️ Relax. Don’t let the fear of making a mistake take away from your performance. The great advantage of recording on camera (when it’s not live) is that we can edit out all the mistakes, and just take the best pieces to deliver the most powerful message.
▶️ Practice your pauses. As we stated before, pauses between sentences are great for edit points. Practicing leaving small pauses in between each one of your sentences and paragraphs. That way if there is a mistake made, the footage can easily be edited to start at one of these small pauses or edit points.

Use all these tips to your advantage, the more well-practiced you are before your shoot date, the smoother and quicker the shoot will go, and the better end result you’ll have.
